Can be taken multiply times, discusses animal behavior, instincts, adaptations, social paterns, and effects of humans on a species. Touches on animal evolution and is more of a hands-on/observation course, not a lecture one. Commonly observing the horses and other domestic animals at the Institute, but also includes field outtings to observe wild creatures.

This class is for students interested in horses and furthering the bond between humans and animals. This course has multiple levels(but are all in a class together): Beginner,Intermediate, Advanced and Specialty. The Specialty courses that are avalible are: Show Jumping, Barrel Racing, Cross-Country, Vaulting and Intro to Equine Sports(Polo, Team Racing, Penning). These courses are all taught during one class period (accept Specialty) and usually alernate between ground and mounted lessons. Generally the students are on horseback 3 times a week and on the ground or in the classroom for the other 2 days. The groundwork includes grooming, conformation, basic first aid, feeding, and tack care while the class room lessons are lecture about evolution of the horse, domestication, historial significance and impact, horse behavior and comunication.
