The small woman woke from a bad dream. Only she was in the room. In her opinion good. She was breathing quickly, as if she had been chased, and she didn’t know why. She muttered to herself as she noted the time. 5:27. Three minutes until she had to get up. She sighed, turning off the alarm, and getting out of bed. She knew she was gonna have to be in her Dress Uniform, if only because it was a special day today.
She pulled on the uniform with quick movements. She moved quickly to the mess, her black pumps making clicking sounds as she went for food. Nodding to the people behind the counter, and heading for her chair. She ate quickly and was doing paperwork at twelve, when one of her corporals raced in breathing heavily. ”Captain! There’s a problem! Soemthing’s opened up in the northern half of the training grounds! We need you!” the young man was panicing, and the small woman shot up, nodding for him to lead her. When they came out, she saw the temperal vortex. She stopped, and stared. ”Get everyone. Tell the President. I’m not sure what it is, but NO one is to go near it. Put a guard around it. Minimum of one hundred feet away, all the way around. Now!” she snapped suddenly worried. She hoped that other's would come. Rae, Wolverine, maybe even some X-Men and Guardian would be notified. She was sure. She stood still watching as her orders were complied with, waiting.

The steady bumps of the old road were aching his back. "How far from the mission are we?" Gabriel looked at his boss, a revered glimmer in his eyes. "Not much longer, sir." All of his team members felt a twinge of respect for him, no matter how he reacted. "Don't call me sir, Gabriel. We are a team, I'm not your boss." Nikki laughed at him. "With all do respect, Jerrock, how are we supposed to react? You saved us all."
He grinned. "Still, we're a team. And I'd like you to feel that way, regardless of whether I write your checks or not." It seemed like only yesterday when he'd been given the job. Flame had given him the offer, and he very willingly took it. She'd helped him gain an assistant, who is now part of the research team. She works from the office. He placed the earpiece in position. "Amelia, are we on point?" He asked. "Yes sir." Her nervous voice came in clearly. "Stop worrying, dear. There is little to no threat." He lied. "Yes sir. I am pulling up the blueprint now." Murke pulled the van up to a curb and slowed to a halt. Looking at AJ, he nodded. "Time to go to work."
He surrounded his team and slowed time, enough for them to get out of sight. "Gabriel, I need numbers." Gabriel's power was Extrasensory. He could sense situations long before they begin to rumble. It seemed endless, the things he could sense. "Thirty or fourty guards on the front gate." AJ frowned. "And the back?" Gabriel raised a brow. "I'm too far away, I need to get closer." Nikki crept up next to Gabriel. "I'll take him." Her grin infuated most men. "Be careful." AJ replied to them. The fall had come and the leaves that had fallen were cracking under their shoes. "I said careful!" He whispered. "Yes sir." Nikki projected to him. He looked to Murke.
"Sir? We have a situation." Amelia came in, now more frightened than before. "There's an SOS from the SMMO, they need our help." What could they possibly need from Guardian? He wondered what in the world was going on, then he saw the slightest glimmer of blue electricity circling the dark clouds. Nikki, come back. Abort mission! "Tell them we'll be there asap. Set the building alarm and go home, Amelia." As Nikki approached, Murke fell to the ground, grabbing his hair, tensed. "Pick him up and get him in the van. Nikki, you're driving."
"Can you hear me, Murke?" AJ was concerned. His visions were difficult and painful. "Victoria... she needs to get them out of there. The gap.....is closing in....on them." AJ pulled a cell phone out. "Nina, meet me back at the office." She was the only teleporter powerful enough to transport the whole team. "Amelia, get the first aid kit ready." He said as they shot towards the building. Whatever was going on was affecting Murke's visions.

Sleep? Yeah no. Not with the nightmares she'd been having. Rae rubbed her right temple and gave a sigh, tossing the data-pad onto her desk. He had to be going on... 48 hours awake now? She scooped up her cup of coffee and took a swallow, leaning back in her chair. Maybe she'd see about having one of the telepaths poke around in there - see if it was something other then too many late nights. Then again... other then Malcolm, she wasn't about to let some stranger in her head. So... maybe.
"Um... Doctor?" Thru partly closed lashes, Rae looked at the man in her office doorway. "Nicky - I told you. I'm not a Doctor - I never was." The man blushed, but came into the room anyway. "Um.. sorry. Ma'am; Captain wants everyone in the training grounds. Something's stirring things up and she seems pretty fired up." Rae grimaced. "Bad pun, Nicky." "Sorry Ma'am."
Rae pushed to her feet with a sigh. Why the training grounds? Maybe that lunatic, x-men boyfriend of hers finally flipped and hurt someone. Snagging the strap of her medical bag, she shouldered the case and scooped up her cup of coffee. "Alright Nicky - lead the way. Lets go see whats stirring up our Leading Lady's dander." The man nodded, stepping out of the way, then falling into place behind Raevaine.
She wasn't a 'ranking' member. She didn't have alittle title like 'captain' or 'commander'. A few called her a doctor, even though she really was nothing more then a EMT with a healing touch. She nodded to the few still in the halls as she sprinted down toward the training grounds, Nicky hot on her heels.
She expected blood, some wounded maybe. She had not expected the Vortex that dominated the north end. She waved Nicky to stay with the others, then moved up toward the distinct form of Crane. "Not exactly standard training grounds decor is it, Captain? Perhaps it would look better in the Kitchen?"

The swirling vortex held the brunet transfixed, at least until Rae came up next to her. She looked over at the healer with a slight nod. ”We don’t know what it is, but it’s got the brotherhood written all over it. Damn how’d they set it off thought?” she was obviously worried, and just brushed the humor back. She was already in plan, learn, do mode. She was not Tori, she was Captain. There was a distinct difference between the two.
She knew guardian was on it’s way. She hoped Jared would get here soon. She couldn’t move without some assureance that he’d be able to step in. or help. The civilians had more leeway. She didn’t. So she stayed back, waiting. She caught site of a well known blond coming her way. Malcolm. He nodded to her as he stopped and closed his eyes probing it carefully. She waited for other’s to come.

Roland had made his move. He’d gotten Viktor Creed to find him a time portal Mashine. He had one thing to do. Get SMMO out of the way. He and a few others (including Viktor) had snuck into the base. Roland was tired after all the mental contutions he’d done to get the work done, and now he was panting behind the vortex, behind a tree with his team. He watched, as the small little wrist watch on his wrist pulsed, an odd purple light, it matched the vortex. He could feel the pull of it. He hoped they’d do something soon. It was a desperaite move, but Viktor had pointed out that the brother hood wasn’t anything if they weren’t trying to get rid of the opposition, and the marine knew how to do that. Hit them at the heart, and cut off the head. That was the way to do it. But did he have a chance? God he hoped so. The rest of his plans hinged on this working. ``statsdone ``tagging PLOT ``word count unknown ``clothes Don’t Care ``listening to None ``notes Alright, so BROTHERHOOD, Anyone who wants to go back intime, post here. It was a nervous habit of his. The wind continued to brush his hair into his face, however. "I said get a move on, damnit!" Nikki eyed him warily, very shocked. "Y-yes sir." Damn these nerves to hell!
he grimaced. The impact of the speed increase was slightly appealing. "I apologize, Nikki. There was no need for that." This was nearly the only time AJ lost his self-control: stress. The graphic images that were placed in his head by his fellow psychic were very mundane. "No need to apologize, boss." AJ chanced a smile. He closed his eyes, concentrating. The mission changed, and he could only hope that the President would understand. He opened his cell. "Hello?" A very fragile voice came in. "Mr. Kidd, I'm at the fountain in front of the hospital. I hope that's okay." He grinned a little. "That's fine. We'll be there momentarily."He couldn't grasp the concept of why such a thing could happen. Vortexes, tears in reality? The suggestion of it all escapes him. However, it was happening. But why now? Was it due to some unforeseen power? Could he, AJ, have prevented this? Could anyone? Was this a mere accident? It was quite obvious that there were more questions than answers lingering. The only thing he truly knew was that the SMMO were in need. As they swung into a parking space, he opened the door. "Get a move on." He said coldly, wrapping Murke's arm around his own neck, carrying him over towards the building. Nina stood just beside the fountain, as promised. "My lord, what happened?" She inquiried, running over to help carry him. "Rough vision." He retorted, feeling no need to carry the conversation on further. The less she knew, the better. "Help me get him inside." She did as instructed. After half-dragging him into the building, Amelia rushed over with the aid kit. "Get it out." He said without giving notice to her shaking. She handed him a syrenge, filled with a silvery glowing liquid. "Hold him down, guys." As he punctured through the skin, Murke gave an eerie screech. "You're okay now." He said, trying to reassure the man. The side-effects of being a psychic was different from one mutant to the next. And for this one, the longer he went without the shot, the closer to death he got. He looked over to Amelia, who's shaking had desisted. "Call Jack in." Jack Holt, he was an extraordinary mutant. He had the ability to field in explosions and the such. He called it shielding. Nearly an hour later, Murke had come back to and Jack was getting details from Nikki. "Are we all ready?" AJ asked, looking towards the team. "Yes, sir." They said in unison. "Let's get this show on the road then, Victoria is waiting." They gathered around Nina. "Nina, after doing this, you get out of there, understood?" She nodded back at him. Jack produced a field around the mutants. "Go home, Amelia.""But sir-" He eyeballed her. "I said, GO HOME!" She winced, then nodded. AJ closed his eyes. Teleporting had never been his favorite thing. There was a thwack and suddenly they were in the SMMO field. "Alright, take positions. Murke, you're with me. Stand guard, the rest of you." He ran over to Victoria, who looked twice as stressed as himself. "We have terrible news, I'm afraid." [/blockquote][/blockquote]

The Brotherhood? Seriously? Rae looked from the Captain to the swirling vortex with a dark look as Malcolm joined them. "Are you sure you aren't giving the Brotherhood a little too much credit, Captain? I mean... before we can blame them, we sorta need to know what it is, don't we?"
She really didn't want to play the Brotherhood - mostly, because that meant they would have to admit that the Brotherhood had target this thing past or smuggled it past their Security. Neither was a happy thought - and Rae didn't much like the idea of the enemy INSIDE the Base. She swallowed, parting her lips to say something again as the a man she didn't know raced up next to them. She found his words a little funny, given the situation. 'We have terrible news..' Rae gave a little bark of laughter and gestured to the vortex spinning ahead of them. "And we have a spinning... whatever it is in the Training Grounds. Please tell me its not going to get worst."[/blockquote][/blockquote] ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ TAG!? Tori, anyone involved. WORDS!? meh. NOTES!? -- OUTFIT!? The small woman looked up at AJ. Her dark eyes worried. ”You have bad news? I have a damn vortex over my training field, and it’s got Brotherhood all over it. So shoot.” she snapped, anger brining flames to her hair, though no where else. Her uniform was smooth, and fireproof. Though you didn’t notice unless you looked close. She glanced at Rae. ”They have telepaths. Only a few of us on the base WON’T be tricked by it. We can’t really put me or Marlin out on the field to patrol. Of course the brotherhood did this. GALE! Get a search out for our Brotherhood friends!” she snapped, her voice rising at the last bit, watching as Richard nodded and motioned for things to happen.
She was angry. ”AJ. Get a team to go through. We’ll be co-ordinating an opp through. We need to know where it is.” she said before she turned and at a fast clip headed inside to change.

Roland was happy about the situation. He motioned for everyone to go back. He kept the write thing, and tapped it. It went invisible, and they faded away. At elast for now. They were not to be found just yet. Later sure… now? No. Though his eyes locked on the vortex again. She wanted to see what was inside. He didn’t know why, but he did. It was going to be interesting. He let his wings appear as he nodded to Sabertooth. It was time to move. Of course it would take a little bit to get everything ready, but that was fine. They could play games. He sent a thought to a few of his people, bombs went off. On the edges of the base. Nothing got hurt, but there was panic. Well he wished. They were military, from all four branches. Marines, Air Force, Navy and Army all were represented here. No one reacted the same way, but they were trained to deal with it. Just wait and see. ``statsdone ``tagging PLOT ``word count unknown ``clothes Don’t Care ``listening to None ``notes Alright, so BROTHERHOOD, Anyone who wants to go back intime, post here. ”You have bad news? I have a damn vortex over my training field, and it’s got Brotherhood all over it. So shoot.”
AJ stared blankly into the desperate expression of one Rogue Eagle. She was not only pained by the idea of more bad news, she was horrified by the very idea. “Meet Murke, one of my associates.” He said, determined to remain calm. “He’s a psychic.” He frowned towards him. “He’s seen the damage this thing can do, and if we don’t get out of here soon, we’re all gonna be sucked in.”
He knew that his words couldn’t be soothing, but he didn’t know how else to put it. He tugged at his coat with his fingertips, feeling the pull of the vortex. He looked intently at Rogue Eagle. “How do you- how did you know that it was…” At the time, he’d felt a buzzing in his pocket. “One moment.”
“Hello?” He spoke into the cell phone quietly. “What have you found?” He listened intently to the words of one of his newest associates. “I see. And you’re sure?” Frowning, he seemed obviously torn by the discussion. “No, I want you out of there, now!” His face contorted in reaction. “Fine. Be safe, Claude. I’ll see you.” He drug his feet back over to Victoria’s position. “That was an insider of mine, with information. It’s definitely the Brotherhood.” He said, struggling with his decision. He failed to see a connection up until he realized that the leader must have somehow forced Omen to play with the black spots in Murke’s second vision. That was, however, out of Omen’s control. As soon as he caught glimpse of what was going on, he found means to contact his true boss.
”They have telepaths. Only a few of us on the base WON’T be tricked by it. We can’t really put me or Marlin out on the field to patrol. Of course the brotherhood did this. GALE! Get a search out for our Brotherhood friends!” The commanding voice had startled Murke. “Listen, I need you to focus on your power and try to see what’s going on.” Murke looked at him knowingly and nodded. “I know it’s dangerous, and I won’t ask you to do it again.” He watched as the man concentrated. “I can see another, watching me. And beside him stands a tall man, grayed hair. He’s holding some sort of weapon across the young man’s neck.” Alright, now I’m worried. He thought to himself, cracking his knuckles. “What about the portal, Murke? Focus on the surroundings of the S.M.M.O.” His eyes began to roll into the back of his head, beads of sweat dripped down his face, sliding down to his chin, then fell to the ground.
“I see no portal, boss.” AJ’s brow lifted. “Pardon?” “I mean, it’s gone. The portal, the security…all of it. The only thing that I see is the mansion.”
His face then contorted and he began to fall. AJ slowed time just long enough to grab him and slow his fall. “You’re all right, I gotcha.” Blood surfaced from every orifice of the man’s head. “Victoria, you got a med in the field?” He yelled out to her. He watched someone come onto the scene. “Take care of him, please. Do what you can.” He came back over to Victoria. ”AJ. Get a team to go through. We’ll be co-ordinating an opp through. We need to know where it is.” He nodded, dialing his phone. “Amelia, call the Squad in. We’ve got work to do.”
