Victoria found herself outside on one of the roofs. She sighed softly. She was bored. Well ok, tired. And hiding from everyone. She just needed a little bit of alone time. More to think over herself. Her body was relaxed as she watched the stars. Her dark eyes reflecting the stars.

She watched them with a blank mind. Their color’s reflecting her emotions. Which were a bit off. Though she didn’t care. It was a dark night. No moon. It was beautiful. She stayed up on the roof. Had been there for hours. She smiled a bit, as she watched the Archer charge across the sky. And the Hunter answer the call of the horn.

Jaenelle had been watching Tori lay there for some time, watching the stars with a glassy-eyed gaze. She, as a jet black raven, had been roosting in a tree not to far away, resting from her session of training with Richard. He had been working with her to hone some of her shapeshifting power, and she achieved moderate sucess. She had been waiting for the right moment to show off, but Tori's emotional state was blank and tired, she could sence it. So she had desided to stay away and watch...untill now. She quickly shifted into a nightengale and sang softly in the dark night for a little while. She wanted to see if Tori would react to it, or just lay there. Then she was going to pull off a trick that had flabbergasted Richard, and made the shattered girl feel a lasting bit of prid in herself. She usually never remembered anything for too long, but with Mal's help, it was getting easier to get a grip on who she was for longer periods of time. She was still too afraid to let him any deeper in her mind then surface right now, but he kept telling her that he hoped it would change...soon. The black bird continued her mournful but sweet song, the starry sky reflecting in her glossy blue eyes. Thoughts: Muse:XD Other:XD

The beautiful brunet heard the song, but didn’t respond. She didn’t really care. She was just tired. Jae, and Logan were stressful. Oh wonderful to have a lover who cared, and a shadow who was always making her laugh, but dealing with them… that was stressful. Keeping them both from killing anything that might upset her, or flirt with her, or just look at her wrong. Keeping them both calm… It was a chore.

Oh she figured the song was from jae. The girl was never to far from her, but she just didn’t want to deal with her at the moment. Let her sing. At least it made it plesant. She did love them, but they’d only brought the stress up. Not that she’d ever tell them. They’d go sulk, or disappear (as she was certain that Logan would do), and that would only make it worse. But she needed time, time to herself.

The nightengale's song ended about half an hour later on a sorrowful note. Tori had seamed to relax slightly, but not fully respond to the song. Jae was still sencing tiredness, along with the fustaration that came with stress. She was confused, but after a few moments of thinking, her scattered thoughts came to an intelegent conclusion. Tori was the head of the SMMO people, so her job was very stressful and tireing. The little bird nodded to herself, desiding that she would try and cheer Tori up a bit...then do her best to leave her alone for the rest of the night. Richard and Mal had both said that she could stay with them, so she would see if she could get into their rooms...or she would go and sleep with the family of foxes that had a den just outside the complexes fences... Jae then centered herself and tried to concentrate. This was really hard, keeping track and holding onto what she wanted to do. Morphing animals together, even if they were all avian, was very difficult, even for her. She first shifted into an Condor for size, then struggled to maintain the size of the bird as she shifted into a bright silver peacock. She opened her beak and panted when she was done, the whole ordeal of morphing them together had taken almost five minutes. They had similar structures, condors and peacocks, but getting the long and beautiful tail-feathers had been a struggle. She gave herself a few moments to rest, then focused again, morphing her flight feathers into the sound muffling ones of a barn owl. This took less effort, but still left her scattered mind reeling. She knew that she could not hold this complex form for more than a few minutes, so she had to act fast. The huge bird lept quietly from the branch she was on and dropped down towards the ground before opening her huge wings. Her wingspan was almost nine feet across with a tail that was just about that long. She beat her wings, barely making a sound as she gained altitude, head cocked to make sure Tori had not seen her. She flew up untill her body was spread across the the lounging Tori below her, leaving the woman in dark shadow. She glided over her as slow as she could then circled down to land a few feet from Tori on the roof. Her tail trailed down the roof and she kept her wings spread, her feather-crowned head cocked elegantly. She had seen a drawn picture of a pheonix, and could not for the life of her morph into it. So she had practiced by night for the last few days morphing one bird into another size, carefully hiding her thoughts from everyone if it crossed her shattered mind during the day. She could now hold it for almost five minutes, but it really stressed her power reserves. After a few moments for Tori to get a good look, Jae's mind lost the hold on the morphed form. She let out a muffled shreik of pain as bones and muscle forcfully contracted. The bird shrunk down to normal size and a few white flight feathers fell to the rooftop. As the now-normal sized peacock's legs collasped under it's weight, Jae unconsiously shifted into tiger form. So the now shaking telepath-tiger lay sprawled on the roof, eyes jammed shut and mouth open with raspy panting. After a moment, Jae opened a weary blue eye and looked at Tori. Her mindvoice sounded exausted, but a flare of pride could be destinguished. *Tori's Pheonix...* That was all the girl said, watching and panting, waiting for her adoptive mother's reaction. Victoria turned to see the bird, jumping and sitting up. Her movements were quick, but then she realized who it was. She eyed the tiger. ”Doing to muchyou’re your own good. Pretty yes, stupid? Very. Careful with your powers.” she said as she reached over and touched the tiger’s ear, before standing up.

She moved to the edge of the building, glancing over at her. ”You really must meet new people, jae. I mean it. You can’t just hang out around me all the time.” calling herself Tori’s Phoenix bothered Tori. She was not anyone’s owner. And while Fire didn’t mind, Victoria did. She watched the tiger, from a bit of a distance, worried.

Jae let out a whimpering roar as she heard Tori's rejection. She got to her paws and ran towards the roof. She lept into thin air above to courtyard and with a flash, became a large raven. *You reject Jae! Jae afraid of people! No hurt from those in these walls...all hurt from outsiders! Jae leave to hide where she belongs...in WILD!* With that, the great bird flew swiftly into the night, tears falling with a sparkle towrds the ground as she went. She dove into some trees beyond the complex and hunckered down to sulk. She would be back she knew...but not for a few days. She needed to try and sort out her mind...and put alittle reason behind her fear if her shattered mind could handle it.

Wolverine heard the pattering on the roof and the soft sound of Tpri's voice. He had come to the complex to look for her. He missed having her around with him... He had been very busy at the school as of late, so his visits had been fast and fleeting. He had tracked Tori's voice to the roof and climbed out a window to join her.

He walked up to her, his bare chest gleaming in the star light. He had been working out not too long ago and had taken off his sweaty clothes in Tori's room. He usually left a set of close here with her just in case, but his white undershirt had not been with his sweatpants. So here he was, standing bare foot and bare chested on the roof, looking at the worried look on his girl's face. He reached out to lay a hand on her arm and said softly, "Was that Jae who just flew off. You seem upset about something...You can tell me..." His voice was full of comfort and he waited for her reply.

Victoria sighed, closing her eyes. What was wrong with her? Well she did know... but still. She was frustraited. She watched the bird fly away, deciding that even if she wanted to, tori wouldn't be able to follow the bird, unless Jae wanted to be found. She was fire, not animal based. She glanced back up at the sky, and was about to climb down the ladder when she heard Logan. WHY did he have to be sneaky?

She turned to look at him crossing her arms. "Yes that was jae. I'm tired of having to safe people from her violent reactions to meeting new people. It's... exausting. I wish she'd follow someone besides me around." she knew she was being spiteful, but she was right to. TOri was constantly cleaning up Jae's mess. And she'd given orders that NO ONE was aloud to hurt jae, so that meant she had more wounded now than she really had before. "She freaks out when someone in a lab coat comes near, or really anyone she hasn't met with me in the room. I'm don't have the time to sit there and follow her around."

Logan took a step forwards to pull Victoria to him. He held her very close and planted a kiss on her hair. His voice was soft as he whispered, "I know, love. It is a lot of work...but you have to remember why she is like this. Ten years in a cage like a lab rat. That is enough to damage even the strongest of people..."

He put a finger under her chin and made her look at him. His blue eyes glittered in the starlight and showed how serious he was. "She is broken love. And if there is any hope of fixing her, it will take time. She has made leaps and bounds from when she first came here. And I was sent here to tell you that the School would take Jae for awhile, if you needed it..." With that, he bent down to give her a desire-filled kiss.

She snorted at his words. ”Facts don’t help Logan.” she muttered. She knew all of that, she was just frustraited. She KNEW the excuse for the girl, but she was just tired of it, as was everyone else. They all had terrors from their back grounds, but they didn’t freak out all the time. She knew Mal wouldn’t fix her until the girl let her in, and it frustraited her, because she KNEW that Mal could fix her easily, without trouble, but his stupid ethics. Which she had figured out, where more strict than his father’s. He was scared of something, she just wasn’t sure what.

She shook her head. ”I doubt she’d stay there, or even enjoy herself. There’s no point in having her go there if she’s going to hurt the students every time they try to get near her, doesn’t help that she’s older than most of them.” she added a bit of an edge in her voice. She wasn’t really paying attention to him, at least not right then. Of course the kiss pulled her attention to him, but she half glared at him whens he pulled away. ”Trying to change the subject doesn’t work that well Logan.”
